As I am term limited, I ask you to join me in endorsing and supporting Sheri Davis as Douglas County Clerk and Recorder.
In the face of rapid Douglas County growth during my term, Sheri Davis and the rest of our team have been focused on election integrity, customer service and creating efficiencies. This has been a group effort led by Ms. Davis and a strong, cohesive leadership team who have taken ownership of the objective resulting in a 95% positive rolling survey response.
As Deputy Manager of Elections Ms. Davis managed the conversion to an all mail out ballot system. Ms. Davis led the fight with the Secretary of State for more than one election system option resulting in Douglas County’s selection/implementation of the secure Clear Ballot (not Dominion) Election system. She also has attained both national and Colorado election certifications.
Ms. Davis was Recording Manager and performed the first in Colorado digital conversion of recorded records. This allows for e-recording and faster, more efficient submission of deeds, creating processing efficiencies for both the County and customers.
As Deputy Motor Vehicle Manager Ms. Davis led a challenging conversion to a new state-wide Motor vehicle system and continues to serve on committees to enhance that system. Additionally, Ms. Davis has implemented efficient processes to support Douglas County’s growing large fleet businesses such as Enterprise, CoPart, Deere et al.
As Manager of each division Ms. Davis implemented major computer system upgrades. Ms. Davis brings unmatched experience and statutory knowledge.
To effectively manage the primary Clerk Divisions requires both experience to lead a complex organization of more than a hundred employees (six hundred during elections) and in depth knowledge of both governing law and rules for each of these unrelated, statutory divisions.
Sheri Davis is unmatched for the job of Douglas Clerk and Recorder. I ask you to join me in supporting her for the position of Clerk and Recorder with your vote and financial support.— Merlin Klotz
Douglas County Clerk and Recorder
It is an honor to support Sheri as our next Clerk & Recorder. While a Commissioner I saw her experience and service to the public meet and exceed expectations. Because of her vast knowledge of the office, management experience and ability to handle the hundreds of transactions a Clerk & Recorder handles daily, she is hands down the best choice to serve the citizens of Douglas County as the next Clerk & Recorder.— Roger Partridge
former Douglas County Commissioner
I have been urging Sheri Davis to run for County Clerk for 10 years. I first observed Sheri’s professional expertise in my role as Chairman of the Douglas County Republicans. Throughout the joint Republican, Democrat and Libertarian’s official interactions with the Elections Division, Sheri’s integrity and operational soundness gave confidence to all chairmen serving in leadership for our respective political parties.During her 24 years with the Douglas County Clerks office, Sheri has held the most critical leadership roles, including Elections, Motor Vehicle Titling and Licensing. She is conscientious, smart, knowledgeable and treats every citizen as the most important customer. No one on the planet is more qualified nor deserving to serve as Douglas County Clerk and Recorder than Sheri Davis. Please join me in voting for Sheri Davis— Mark Baisley
Colorado State Representative House District 39, Douglas and Teller Counties
When I was the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder, Sheri was one of my most valued employees. At that time, I named her to run the Real Estate Recording Division of the office, and she was responsible for installing the technology infrastructure to receive the first electronic real estate recording in the state of Colorado. Next, I asked her to run the Elections Division, which is a very demanding position where she was excellent in balancing the pressing demands of an election official. She is very savvy about technology, so she has a deep understanding of how to protect each and every step in our complex election process. After I left the Clerk's Office to become a State Representative, she managed the Motor Vehicle Division, so she has deep experience in the 3 major operations of the office. Much happens at the state level which affects the clerk's office, and Sheri has the knowledge and contacts to make a difference at that level. She's affected the makeup of bills at the Statehouse, whether it be for more transparent and secure elections or the simplifying of the real estate recording process, and she's been active in simplifying the Motor Vehicle regulations. Sheri's strongest workplace trait is her ability to assess situations and then create better outcomes without necessarily spending more taxpayer dollars. She finds ways to streamline processes, while serving customers better. These skills are essential with the growth we have in our county. The Clerk's office has 4 distinct and separate businesses (the office is also responsible for keeping the minutes for the Board of County Commissioners) within in it, and Sheri is the only candidate with the strong management and leadership experience to handle the office's competing demands. I am so proud of Sheri and she is deserving of your support. — Carole Murray
