Efficiencies: Time & Money
My career in the Clerk and Recorder office has been during a time of exceptional growth i Douglas County. My first inclination is not to add more staff, but to find ways to improve our processes in order to manage the increased volume of business. I partnered with the Douglas County IT department to implement and oversee:
- Self-serve DMV kiosks in grocery stores and online appointment scheduling for DMV, Driver License and Passport service
- First online voter registration look-up tool
- An electronic poll book
- New computer systems in all Clerk and Recorder offices
I conducted the first electronic recording in the State of Colorado, assisting title companies to narrow the gap on the insurance they provide for property transactions to save time and money.
I partnered with businesses to streamline fleet transactions at the DMV and have worked to showcase this model and share this methodology with other counties and states. One business has offices around the state and has chosen to headquarter in Douglas County because of our continued partnership. As a result, we increased overall revenue in excess of $1,000,000 and Douglas County retains over $300,000 during the first year of partnering with this company.
I am committed to continue seeking opportunities to innovate and streamline processes for our citizens to save you time and money.
